HISTORY

GREEN began as an idea in the Spring of 2018.

Little did she know, Victoria would soon find her greatest ally by pure coincidence. She met Trini Kechkian through a mutual friend, and they became an instant team. They met several times more over Spring 2018 to make plans to hit the ground running in Fall 2018.

From that group of 10, Candice Wang, Megan Ahern and Grace Aaronson volunteered to become the first-ever board members, as Secretary, Treasurer and Social Media Chair respectively. Through mostly trial-and-error, the board worked through sticky situations and confusing processes to steer GREEN in the right direction. With the tireless efforts of our newly committed members, as well as with the board's hard work behind the scenes, GREEN began to flourish.

ONE OF OUR
FIRST MEETINGS

Spring 2018

One of our founders, Victoria Lim, realized over the course of her freshman year that there were no environmental clubs on campus that identified and tackled sustainability issues on campus. So she hung recruitment posters around campus to try and find her people.

Fall 2018

As Co-Presidents and the only 2 people in GREEN, Trini and Victoria gathered a small but dedicated group of 10 members in Fall 2019. In their first meeting at WLH 110, they hatched an ambitious plan that would grow into their first ever project: The Sustainable Butteries Project.
